I have forgotten most of who I was. What remains is little more than fragments. There was another version of myself who worked in the past, but his work has all but vanished.

All that is left are the feelings he had. Emotions have stayed the same, but I feel as though everything else has changed.

My body shows signs of a prolonged, stressful ordeal. It is as if my previous self was fighting something he couldn't defeat; so instead, he chose to forget the battle entirely.

There are more clues that this memory loss is intentional. For example, the notes scattered all over my computer and desk. Whatever he wanted to be, that's what he left behind. I'll endeavor to complete what he has left for me.

Sometimes I'll see a face or remember a name and I'm sure that these people where once familiar to who I was before, though I don't know why.

There is repetition and variation. Perhaps there is hope as well. Hope that I am part of my predecessor's plan for victory and that, perhaps, I will not make the same mistakes he has.
